New Friends, New Places, New Games

What's going on, dear reader? It's your pal, Dace, here, excited to update you on what's cooking at the home office and beyond.

From 3D-printing miniature pirate ships to playing Dungeons & Dragons with a bunch of stoned, first-time adventurers, it's been one helluva an end to the month of love and a promising start to the month that Shakespeare beefed with.

Shall we?

Roll for Adventure is Officially 420-friendly

Those who dabble in the plant-based lifestyle will be happy to know Roll for Adventure recently visited New York City's first-ever Amsterdam coffee shop.

Tucked away in the far corners of Flushing, Queens, sits Manila Joe's, a quant cafe serving up freshly roasted coffee, locally grown cannabis, and a magnificent collection of retro robot toys, pinball machines, and funky art. This place is one-of-a-kind. Check out their website.

But when visiting this establishment and sampling its wares, I couldn't help but realize something was missing: "the world's greatest role-playing game!"

Trust me: nothing goes better with a "hippie speedball" than a handful of dice and some good old-fashioned dungeon delving.

So, after speaking with the owner, I landed us a monthly Sunday spot to run players old and new through one-shot Dungeons & Dragons adventures.

If you've never played, love playing, or just want to vibe with your friendly neighborhood Dungeon Master, stop by for our next session on Sunday, March 23rd.

There is no need to sign up in advance; just arrive by 2 p.m. ready to roll, and we'll handle the rest. Our adventures last 1.5-2 hours. Stay as long as you like!

I hope to see you there!

The Great Game Store Tour Has Begun!

To promote Table Champs to a broader audience, Max and I are hitting the pavement and visiting as many local game shops in NYC as possible.

Last night, we kicked off our tour at Brooklyn Game Knight, where our good friends and shop owners Frank and Sara have cultivated a killer community of board gamers from all over.

Brooklyn Game Knight is located in Industry City's Distillery District, and if you haven't checked out their space yet, you're seriously missing out.

Our takeover events include demos of our current games, opportunities to play-test work in development, and giveaways of free goodies, like dice and Table Champs champion cards.

We also carry a limited number of copies of Table Champs and Boo's Clues for purchase, accepting payments through Zelle, Venmo, or cold-hard cash.

This coming Saturday, March 8th, we're dropping by The Brooklyn Strategist at their event, "Games with Strangers," followed by a table takeover at Sip&Play on Wednesday, March 12th. Don't be a stranger; support local art and indie creators!

Something on the Horizon

Rounding out this newsletter comes an announcement I've been itching to make:

Playtesting for our next game is officially underway!

Ladies, gentlemen, and everything in between, I give you:

ree

PIRATESHIP! is a piratical twist on the classic game Battleship.

In it, you and up to three other players go head-to-head, sailing across uncharted waters in search of treasure, avoiding mythical dangers, and sinking each other until one ship remains victorious.

Check it out in action!

I'm pleased to say that reception has so far been positive, but I'm not taking just anyone's word for it (especially since one of those reviews was my loving mother.)

So, to improve our previous playtesting efforts, I'm seeking willing gamers to volunteer their time to try this new game.

If you're interested in helping with the PIRATESHIP! development process, please send your name and number to rollforadventure.studios@gmail.com
